Hello everyone, I’m Shawn!

Hello everyone! I’m Shawn and I am so excited you are visiting my website! “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door (or a dessert food truck)!” Shawn Goes Bananas is the brainchild of my mom and dad, Shawn and Sonia Rosier. You see, when I graduated from high school, because of my extensive support needs (I have autism and an intellectual disability), my employment opportunities were very limited.

I am so thankful for our family friend, Brent Edison, who offered me employment at his local cupcakery, SmallCakes, in October 2022. My employment at SmallCakes, in addition to my culinary courses at Wakulla High School, provided me with the opportunity to gain many skills in food preparation and other duties that accompany employment in the food service industry.

As my mom and dad watched me flourish at SmallCakes, my parents, along with Vocational Rehabilitation, and a team of business professionals, decided to create a supported self-employment opportunity for me, hence the birth of Shawn Goes Bananas!

When I’m not preparing my mom’s decadent banana cream pudding and other desserts, I enjoy watching NFL games. The Atlanta Falcons are my favorite team and Jalen Hurts, quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, is my favorite player. When I was a teen, I was blessed to meet Jalen Hurts and Coach Nick Saban in person during a visit to an Alabama football game (Roll Tide)! I also enjoy watching my favorite WWE superstar Roman Reigns and participating in FSU Best Buddies chapter activities!

I am so excited to share my mom’s gourmet banana cream pudding! And to also share some of my family’s other southern decadent desserts with our customers! Shawn Goes Bananas is an example of what can be accomplished when you believe in your ability regardless of your disability!
